1 hr speed master copy
Warming up with some Van Dyck again. It's about an hour, with a diaper and wardrobe change in the middle for my baby
EDIT: NEITHER. It looks like Michael Gross from Family Ties
Looks like the guy from Growing Pains (I think that's the show)Wait, I'm mistaken, I'm thinking of Different Strokes? I dunno

Google Hangout UVU edition
My time as a student at Utah Valley University is such a blast, and so fulfilling. I always wondered what it would be like to be in a network of great artists, and now I know. There are many who are graduating and moving on, hopefully we will still be able to keep our friendships strong.
Here's to many more experiences!
Lucas the Hutt - Diamond Edition
Last assignment for Advanced Figure Drawing with Perry Stewart. It was fun to do, except for the two all nighters in a row :p
The idea popped in my head during the many Lucas sketches in preparation for this assignment. I decided to google search 'Lucas the Hutt' and saw that some earlier renditions had already existed. I went with it anyways; and gave it the Disney treatment, with the Diamond Edition super rerelease.

George Lucas sketch
Our next assignment is a caricature of George Lucas with some extra stuff. To prepare myself, I have been sketching GL constantly. Yesterday, I forgot to bring my sketchbook and photo reference, so I decided to try it out from memory.
Pretty neat!

I'll be doing more, and will show the final piece later

Started out a speed painting, then it got updates
Was browsing around and noticed Serge Birault's Muddy Colours post , which of course, is awesome. I decided to try and do a quick 1 hour thing using his reference of Chloé
I really feel like I need to let loose more, I hate the way I stay within certain boundaries when making art. I feel like mine is too rigid and not fun. Well, maybe it's time to do one everyday huh?

Peter and the Wolf
The requirements were to make a poster advertising a showing of this story for a new animated feature. I still need to finish it
This is what I ended up with, though now I'm thinking it looks like a 'Twilight' movie poster. Uh oh, that wasn't my intention haha. And Peter looks like a hobbit

Digital Figure Painting final
This was from 2012, for Don's figure painting workshop at CGSociety. Don Seegmiller is an amazing artist and a fantastic mentor.
The reference was from Marcus Ranum via Deviantart.

Cadbury Bunny
Easter pic process lol
First, I found this cute little bunny photo via google
A quick sketch, originally thinking of an egg shell
As it tends to happen with me, all ideas turn to chocolate
Then back to top for finish

Visual Liberation
12 days ago, this happened:
I'm pretty blind without my glasses, and I'm just terrible when it comes to contacts; or anything that might come near my eyes. Problem with this situation:
- I still have Advanced Figure Drawing with Perry, and we draw from live models.
Anyways, I went to class and setup per the norm. The model readied herself, and began the first pose. I looked up, and saw various different blurs of shape, colour and value. It was like a permanent squint.
I picked up my pencil and held it to the paper, when I had a sudden epiphany. Since I couldn't really see anything, I wasn't under any pressure to render any details. I couldn't see what I was in front of me, so I decided to just dive in and let my hand do whatever it wanted.
Drawing became fun again for me haha
After the class was over, I decided to keep going with a sketchbook page. It still was a fun experience to just go at it with poor eyesight.
Of course...these looked a lot better before my replacement glasses arrived :p
